What is MaraDNS ?
MaraDNS is a package that implements the Domain Name Service (DNS), an
essential internet service. MaraDNS is open source software; this means
that anyone is free to download, use, and modify the program free of charge.
People like MaraDNS because it's small, lightweight, easy to set up, and
remarkably secure. It's also cross platform -- the program runs both in
Windows and in UNIX clones.
More information describing MaraDNS is on the overview
and summary page.
Current status
The most recent version of MaraDNS is MaraDNS 2.0.07,
which I released on January 20, 2013. More information is in the
blog.
Support
MaraDNS is a finished and stable project and there are no plans
to add new features at this time. MaraDNS support (including bug
reports) is available on a limited basis on the MaraDNS mailing
list. I only answer emails once a month, near the end of the
month, unless a security issue with a CVE number has been
discovered. To join the mailing list, send an email to list-request@maradns.org
with the word "subscribe" in the subject and body of
the message. Once you join the list, send an email to list@maradns.org with your support
concern.
While I only look at and answer MaraDNS support emails once
around the end of a given month; other MaraDNS users might address
your concern sooner. There also is no guarantee that I will acknowledge
or answer a given support concern.
Mailing list archives are here: Archive #1,
Archive #2.
